Flipside Radio at Chester Aid to the Homeless

As a part of Flipside’s Lottery Funded ‘Outreach Radio’ project, Flipside Radio has delivered a series of radio presenting workshops at Chester Aid to the Homeless (CATH) over the past few weeks.

CATH offers a wide range of services and support to homeless and vulnerably housed people. The radio workshops have taken place at CATH’s Harold Tomlins Learning and Resource Centre on Grosvenor Street in Chester City Centre, using Flipside’s mobile mini radio studio.  Clients, staff and volunteers from CATH have participated in the workshops, developing skills in operating the studio, selecting and presenting music and interviewing guests.

CATH Learning Manager, John Buchanan said …

” The sessions have been really popular and we’ve definitely got some great DJs in the making here! It’s been great to see the clients challenged and to watch [and hear] them growing in confidence.”

Flipside Radio has been granted a temporary licence to broadcast live across Chester on 90.2 FM from the 3rd-6th December. During the broadcast listeners will be able to hear a special programme which was recorded during the workshops at CATH. Watch this space for full details on the schedule.
