Flipside Radio will be broadcasting from Thursday 3rd until Sunday 6th December, live across the city of Chester on 90.2 FM.
We have been granted a ‘Short Term Restricted Service Licence’ from Ofcom and we aim to provide Chester with an FM radio station that celebrates the music, culture and great people within the local community.
Our dedicated team of volunteers will be playing an eclectic mix of music, from chart pop to roots reggae and everything in-between, including music and live sessions from some of the finest local artists.
It is not all about the music though, as we will also be helping local charities and community groups get their messages out to the public in the run up to Christmas. The broadcast will feature guest interviews from many of them, including Chilaxing Youth Club (Lache), Brightlife, Pennysmart, West Cheshire Credit Union, Chester Aid to The Homeless, Sanctuary Housing, Minerva Arts, The Unity Centre, Chester Sanjhi Indian Association and many more.
Lache resident and long serving Flipside DJ, Eddie Shields said…
“It’s a great thing to be involved in, it will create a really good buzz in the local community and I can’t wait to get on the decks”.
Fellow Lache resident Darron ‘Dog’ Rogers said…
“I’ve only been taking part in the radio sessions for a few weeks. I am really enjoying it and I’m made up to have such a great project on my doorstep here in Lache. I love doing my own show, of course, but the variety of content we cover from all over Chester is brilliant and I am really happy to be a part of it”.
Flipside’s ‘Pop- Up’ FM radio broadcast is being funded by ‘The Big Lottery Fund - Awards for All’ and is a part of a larger ‘outreach radio project’.
