Flipside celebrating ten years of connecting with the community

On 8th December co-presenter of the popular Flipside Weekly program Mr Parsley will be going live for 24 hours and will be using the opportunity to support two Chester based charities, Chester Women’s Aid who supports families experiencing domestic abuse and also raise awareness around the issue. The second charity is Lache Community Development Trust which as well as coordinating Flipside radio the charity also provides services locally for the disadvantaged area of Lache.

Flipside radio began in 2007 known as Lache FM. Originally a community project that focused on giving residents of Lache the opportunity to develop media skills and present their own shows, in 2015 the project grew to have a city-wide interest and the decision was made to change the name to Flipside Radio however still broadcast loud and proud from Lache. Long-time member of the production team Su Johnstone reflects on her time with the station

it has been great to see the station develop over the years and even better to see what the former and current volunteer presenters have achieved in their personal and professional lives, we have had many people come in and develop skills that have helped them move forward in their careers”

The 24-hour broadcast will take place on December 8th at 6pm and will include an eclectic mix of guests from musicians, charity organisations and possible celebrities. In the run up to Mr Parsley’s #24hoursofparsley Tori Erskine will be going live at 5pm-6pm with a special edition of “what’s the stori”
