Giant scotch eggs and modern art at the cathedral were amongst the topics discussed on the latest edition of the We Are Chester show.

Co-hosts Tori and Angela were joined for the show by guest host Paul Crofts. Paul is a key member of both Tip Top Productions and Chester Theatre Club, doing various roles including PR and props.

He chatted about the two theatre companies’ forthcoming productions, as well as regaling us with tales of the challenges of being responsible for props for theatre and also of his roles in various productions.

There was a mouth watering mention of having to procure giant scotch eggs for one particular production, which the cast then got to devour at the end of the day. Nothing seems to be too much of a challenge for Paul, who juggles his theatre roles with a day job.

There was also the usual mix of chat and top tunes, including a discussion about the Ark modern art exhibition at Chester Cathedral. Love it or loathe it, it’s certainly proved a talking point and a draw for visitors to our city.

The We Are Chester special on Flipside is a monthly show which looks at good stuff to see and do in and around Chester, with a particular focus on arts and culture. It’s an offshoot of the We Are Chester online magazine

You can listen again to the show here. The next We Are Chester show will be at 7pm on Thursday, 7 September, when Tori and Angela will be talking about free or cheap things to see and do in the city.
